New owner of Halo 3

I came into a good deal on halo 3, I also own the other 2 but have not spent much time playing them. Just wondering if a person shoud complete the first 2 before attempting the 3rd? Let me know what y'all think!

If you want to know what going on in the story then yes, you should complete the first two before playing Halo 3.
