I remember hearing a rummor that the XBOX 360s are supposed to be getting a new set up chips that run cooler and faster than the current models. Is this true or just a rummor as I said?

i don't think it'd be faster, but it would definitely run cooler than its predecessor

they dont run faster, they are just smaller and run cooler then the chipsets in 360 at the moment. and yes they are coming out, i would guess it would still take couple of months, because MS needs to empty out there warehouses with the old chipset 360s.

Well than my next question would be whether they're worth waiting for? I guess cooler is better and they'll probably be the same price.

personally, i dont think it's worth waiting for, since the new xbox360 MFG after late June 2007 will have a new heatsink added, which it'll solve the heat problem

i thought they were calling this "the falcon"

i think it's just quietly going to replace original pro xbox 360 systems on shelves, i dont even know if they'll be marked as the new 360

manufacturer date that is late june or after

say if i bought an xbox 360 manufacturer in 02-25-2007, it won't have the new heatsink installed which will trigger RROD problem very soon, but if you bought the ones that is manufacturer in 06-20-2007 or later, it'll have the new heatsink installed, which it'll solve the heat issue

p.s: any xbox360 manufacturer before june 2007 does not have any heatsink mounted on the GPU(video card)

to live4thepackers:

they'll quietly put on your local retailers, and even the store might not know about it, i mean come on, this is clearly a marketing technic, if microsoft actually admit that there are going to be 65nm chip(aka falcon) soon on your local retailer shelve, i can guarantee you that, no one will buy xbox360 until the release of the new fabricated chip.
