its 12 am sunday morning, i look up my repair to find i have a new serial numer, when can i expect my xbox to be returned? ( it took 7 days to get to the center in texas) i might get it before halo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!beavisxxx420well when i sent mine it i got a new one withing the same week (3-4 days).
if you live within canada its law that mcsoft sends you a new unit and not a refurbished oneLove_Hina_Lover
Awsome!!!!! did not know that was a law.
They send everyone refurbished consoles. If everyone had to wait for their specific console to get back to them, it would take forever. Especially if there was a queue of broken consoles backing up. People would be waiting for months. So my launch console is probably in Connecticut somewhere, who knows.msjr78
Okay, for all to know. Yes they are sending refurbs but when you get your new one (and for those who have their new ones already), feel on top where the disc drive is; you'll notice an extreme difference than your first one. They are adding new cooling systems to the front of the unit for added ventilation. I read about it in the official XBOX magazine. Also if you remove you cover from the case, you'll notice a small green plastic casing right behind the memory card slots; this is the housing of the added cooling unit. My "refurbed" 360 is now always cool and I've at one point left it on the entire day because I didn't turn it off thinking I'd be back soon, but didn't come home until like 13 hours later (I don't keep the auto-off feature on because the last time I had it on, I had to start FEAR over from the beginning). Per the article, they're making new 360 (Core, Premium and Elite) with this new cooling unit installed.

Along with your new heatsink installed, did it happen to have an HDMI output? One of my friends told me he heard on G4 that they were sending some of those out, too. Is that true? Cuz mine is on its way to Texas right now. Probably won't have it back in time for Halo 3, but HDMI would be a nice trade off
