Mine too is CONSTANTLY freezing now, after i downloaded today's update. This is #$&*ing ridiculous i cannot play ANY of my games. Everytime i click on an "in-game" menu (ie my games' initial menu screens, the pause screens etc) there is a long 10-15 second lockup where i cannot do anything.
WORST OF ALL, my 360 is now no longer responding to any of my wireless controllers (they connect to the "ring of light" but have no functionality).

I don't think mine is destroyed but right when I downloaded it my 360 froze up.
Now it won't let me load the marketplace or Live panels of the dashboard and whenever I turn it off a couple seconds after the disc tray pops open and you have to force it back in.
I dont think 360 age has much to do with this.. since I got mine about a week after release. Controllers work and it only freezes when im in CoD4. So I'm hoping that it's just a CoD4 issue with live atm :(

Yup mine is a launch console as well. Not only has this update totally #$&*ed it up, but i seem to have MANY more problems with all the new games than people with newer consoles.
And this only means that these "newer consoles" will likely start experiencing the same technical problems 1-2 years from now. What a poorly built machine.
yeah about a year back i got my first RRoD, and thats when i started experiencing problems. Of course the red ring is no longer there, yet all the same problems are. Seems VERRRYYYY convenient for Microsoft. Hmmmmmmm
it has to be something with the live network because even xbox.com is running slowing so it has to do with like the network and/or the configuring of the connection (i guess)...so to be safe shut it off and wait a day or hopefully a few hours. I heard clearing your cache works but hve yet to try it
I have a newer one (zephyr,not falcon) and after the update, my xbox froze 10 times while trying to send my friend a private chat invite, it would just lock up..
well not distroy it, but its freezing like hell now, i cant go on the dashboard without it freezing? any tips or insight on whats going on?revolution2k6
when i look at friends of friends it freezes i will be the first one to say it but this update should of added all the leaked(rumored) things and i wouldnt care if it froze but this update wasnt worth it
My Xbox i Had for a year and it started to freeze alot and then it showed the 3 red lights..what i did is go out and buy the elite and when my oldxbox comes back from microsoft after they fix itI'm selling it. if i was some of you guys thats what i would do, but i don't no just a suggestion.
