New Vegas achievement question

In order to get the Whole Gang's Here achievement do I have to tell my companions to part so I can get my next comapnion?

Yep. You can only have two companions at a time so you will have to tell them to wait for you somewhere so that you can pick up another. FYI, you have to get them all in one playthrough. Also, not sure how far you are, but when you get the floating robot (forgot it's name) I would recommend dismissing him right away. I had that companion glitch on me and he ended up getting stuck somewhere and he never came back to me so I couldn't dismiss him to get another companion.

If you have ED-E or Rex you can have a human follower too, but that's the only way you can have two followers.
