Fallout 3 did some floundering until the Broken Steel DLC. It will be interesting to see the quality and quanity of DLC available for New Vegas.
in my opinion i feel like ive played this game starting out like fallout 3 but as i progressively went through the game i felt engaged in the story. im about a week in and im still playing it with thousands of side quests left. but whats your opinion?milkbone20they are both perfect.....they both are my number 1 favorite games

I liked New Vegas but LOVED Fallout 3. The feeling i had when i stepped out of the vault into the wasteland was incredible, i love the dark, gloomy atmosphere of the game. New Vegas was very fun, don't get me wrong, however it just didn't grip me like FO3 did. I replayed FO3 3 times so far and i'm still not tired of it.

Very glitchy. I have yet to play NV but F3 left something to be desired with me. But from what I have heard so far, NV doesn't rank up to F3
Fallout 3 worked
Fallout New Vegas is broken
So that's all you need to know. I used the english definition of "better" when I look at the two games
Even after 200 bugs have been fixed there's still game breaking bugs in New Vegas, heck I wouldn't even list New Vegas as a good game lol

Nope, not sure why you keep saying that
I will repeat myself
There is no reason at all for a console game to have game breaking bugs because the system is so small, there is a small number of possible games and save data and configurations for any game.
The sign of a bad game for a console is one that has game breaking bugs, there's no reason to have them in a console besides lazy and bad devs
Fallout 3 imo was boring I genuinely found the story boring and the side quests were more of a chore. New vegas has shocked me because I am enjoying it an awful lot and the exploration in this game doesnt feel as stale so i would personally say NV is far greater than 3firebolt53
The first time i bought Fallout 3, i didn't really give it much of a chance, I played for 2 hours and thought it was boring cause i didn't know what to do or where to go. But then i got it again later and had a total blast, never once felt it was boring. But I respect your opinion.
New Vegas is better in every way. More perks, more weapons, iron sights, weapon mods, better writing, better sidequests, more choices, more dialogue options based on skills, better companions, things in the game make sense based on the story of 1 and 2 unlike Fallout 3, it has multiple endings for your companions/groups/towns, reputation with individual groups, hardcore mode will be loved by a lot of people and makes otherwise useless perks and skills very useful, etc. It has a lot of bugs but I never ran into anything that bad and if you check the Fallout wiki you can see how a lot of bugs can be avoided. It's pretty much exactly what should be expected from Obsidian, everything better than Bethesda, including the glitches.

Same here. Looks great but I just havnt had the 'i must continue' past the starting town yet. Will hopefully get more involved with it this holiday season
Same here, I still beat the game but I was going through it as fast as possible so I could trade it in. Fallout 3 for life! haha
One area that Fallout 3 is better by a mile is the quailty of locations and looting. I mean, pretty much every single discoverable location in F3 is pretty big to loot and explore. Fallout New Vegas's locations are mostly open areas and not that big at all. Of course there are several big ones, but playing through F3 right now after 6 straight New Vegas playthroughs and the huge difference is evident.
Personally, both have good and bad things about them. Fallout New Vegas should have been F3 as many agreed and it is definetely the better role-playing game. As far as overall experience, as i said already, both have their good and bad sides, but for a Fallout lover like me, they are pure "treasures",
