New Xbox 360 Update (May 2011)

As u all noe there's a new update 2day for the Xbox 360. And if u havent heard already, some pple have issues with reading disks after the mandatory update. However if u contact customer support, Microsoft will send u a new Xbox 360 (Slim) 250 GB for free. That's awesome, in fact I really hope that my Xbox breaks; but i would like to noe if that option is still avaiable for those who broke their Microsoft warranty seal on their 360.

I have a launch console with a crappy 20gb (13gb) hard drive, I could do with a new slim 250gb model, I hope mine breaks too :D lol.

No, if you opened your Xbox you don't get a new console because they could easily say you tampered with it and thats why it does not work anymore, and also you dont contact Microsoft about it, they can tell if your Xbox stoops working because of the update through Xbox live and they will contact you.

Oh damn, I did actually open up my xbox to fix my dvd drive before now as it stopped reading discs altogether. Looks like I won't be getting diddily squat from microsoft if the update kills my 360.

Then i take it all back LOL! i hope my Xbox won't have this issue; and for every1 else out there who hve broken their Xbox 360 warranty seal and is experiencing this issue then I guess all u can do is probably sell ur Xbox for parts and either buy a new one or a PS3.

It was already confirmed that the replacement was for a previous update, not the new one.
