Surprisingly I think the review is the most dead on at all, With in the first paragraph alone. Which explains why some like Halo 3 and some do not it is the same that did not like Halo 2 or Halo 1.
The best I think was, " One is expected to love Halo games the way one is expected to love Harry Potter, "American Idol," Tom Hanks, the Beatles and chocolate" Though criticizing chocolate in any way is just not fair, All the rest has the same sense of hype and falls into the your only cool if you like these shows within there targeted markets.
I think Halo is another example Advertising firms will say is the game model to look at, Same way they look at Harry Potter Advertising for other books, Or TV Advertisers look at American Idol hoping to get another spin off of there own to make money. It just some how all worked and came together and now like Rocky Horror Picture show you have a rabid following of fans that will say it is gods gift to man kind.
