That means that you need to update something on the dashboard. I remember getting that message too. Or it could mean you have to update something in-game. I actually don't remember, but you have to update something. Its not a message lul.
I already did an update from my dashboard before I played the game and I did another one later once I started the game (it now says 1.2 or something in the bottom right corner of the main title screen). Does this mean there are other updates?

When i tried to play Halo 2 on 360 I got that message too. I called support and they told me that the parental setting didn't allow me to play original xbox games on my 360 so I turned the option off and started playing Halo 2 on my 360
