O....kay... I love how Madden threads turn into "2K football is the best ever!!!" threads... That's great if you think that but I only care about Madden seeing as the only good 2K game was the original on Dreamcast. After that, the game has been nothing but junk.

the Thread is called "Next Gen football is here" learn to read.2K5 was a great football title, of course not many Madden fans know this b/c they were busy playing Madden. Without the NFL license 2K8 will never touch the sales numbers of Madden, but it doesn't have to.
Madden 2008 sounds great (although personally I can't stand the arcadey nature of Madden), the promises have been there before. But still, it does sound like Tiburon is actually going to fix the gameplay. Of course how convenient that Madden FINALLY gets back on track when 2K gets back into the game.
2K always made the best looking and playing football game!
I'm not sure about 2K8, only because it doesn't have the NFL licence...

the Thread is called "Next Gen football is here" learn to read.Dude, I made the thread and I understand what the topic says, but if you actually read the first post, it's purely Madden based. 2K fans sure do like to cry and talk about how EA stole the NFL license away but 2K tried to get it and before you say that EA has more money, the NFL could easily have picked 2K if they had felt they would do the better job but obviously they felt EA would do more of what they wanted. So yeah, quit crying and just have fun playing your 2K game. I couldn't care less if you guys like that more but it seriously makes no sense that a thread about Madden (read the first post and it's very obvious) turns into a "2K RULES and MADDEN DROOLS!!!" thread... It's seriously sad.

I'm sure there are plenty of Madden fans that didn't play 2K5 (I have played it and wasn't impressed) but there are just as many that didn't play Madden because they were busy playing 2K5... It goes both ways and obviously it just comes down to personal preference as to which game you like. I am very happy that the 2K series came out because it really pushed football games in the right direction but, personally, I feel that it has been surpassed.

Yeah, because you played both of them and know first hand...
It's a prediction.... nurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Sigh, if they make it more like the ones on the Xbox it be great. The ones on the 360 look way to similar to those of 2K's game. In other words crap and ugly. Just like Tony Hawk, I'm all Maddend out. No sense in buying a game I'll have to buy next year after the new draft.

So I just got done reading the new Madden preview on ign.com and I have to say I am SO pumped for football this year! I enjoyed the games the last two years (although I will admit they were lacking, 06 in particular) but they really weren't a step forward like they should have been. Well, this previewhas me stoked!!! I have always been a football fan and I have played Madden since the early days on Sega Genesis so hearing that Madden is very next gen now makes me VERY happy. I can't wait!nickdastick
hell yeah man. man, i think i am the biggest madden fan ever, and you don't know how excited i am for this.
IGN got me all pumped for Madden 07 last year as well.. and that was the first Madden game I was disappointed with. What really irks me is in the '08 preview they say how 07 was such a big letdown, but they gave it an 8.5!! Anyways, after 07 I vowed to skip out on Madden this year (first year I'll miss since... '03 maybe).moocow21
no, don't do it. please, just don't!
i love how everyone is praising ea for stepping up this year but its really thanks to 2k games because now that ea has COMPETITION they actually make a decent games, thats why exclusive licenses are stupid and ruin gaming, competition brings out the best in both parties, so i'm happy that 2k is even making a game, even if it flops they are the main reason that ea is improving the gameplaygander448
Took the words otta my mouth!!! *Bravo*

I owned both of them. When I got tired of one I popped the other one in. Good times with both of them.

I agree. Plus, Madden 07 was making strides in the right direction already and the PS3 version added gang tackling (although it's a totally new engine this year) so it wasn't just the fact that 2K8 was coming out. Plus, they might not have even known for sure that 2K was going to make a game...
