It should have been released last fall in my opinion! all the games coming out are stupid except gta V an the graphics suck this gen! and they arent getting any better! which is understandable cause this gens power of technology is pretty much tapped out. what do you guys think about it being to late for a nexxt gen??PlayBoi_92I would keep your expectations in check as far as graphics and the next gen of consoles go. I personally am not expecting a huge leap in straight up visuals. Where I expect the gain is in things like particle effects, shadows, draw distance, frames per second and native resolution.

Well those "small" details you are describing are going to be huge in the long run when combined together. I think animations will certainly take a huge leap forward. Less stiff movements.
I don't think so, graphics really aren't that important to me, I think the current consoles have at least a good year left
of somewhat i agree with you because a lot of video game companies are losing money due to lack of gen. i really want a next gen, but then again i don't because i don't want to save up the money

I heard rumors that next gen is going to be the final graphical leap, cause it will be using cgi graphics, like the ones you see in final fantasy movies, so imhave hope for the graphics next gen.

I'm still content with current consoles for right now. Seeing as how the next Xbox will be most likely launching holiday 2013, I don't think waiting another year and a few months will be that big of a deal. Especially since there are still great games hitting the current consoles.
I'm really not in a hurry for next-gen. Each system will cost at least $300. That's a lot of money right now. Not to mention new controllers, new games, any other peripherals. I like the idea of Nintendo's controllers being backwards compatible, with the exception of the video screen controller, of course.
I would really not mind if the next XBOX comes out in March or so of 2014. I can have some of my income tax return to help with the costs of a new gaming console.
I finally have decent TVs for my systems that I am not in a rush for a new console. BTW, though I haven't tried 3D gaming I am not really excited about it either.

Are you serious? Every game that's coming out except for GTA V is going to suck? You must be really myopic or something.

I'm okay with the current gen of consoles. There are still plenty of games keeping my interest and many being released that that will do the same. Graphics are not the most important aspect of video games, it's story and gameplay that matter more than anything
Average span of console lives seem to be about 5-6 years, so yeah, it is a bit overdue but we are faced with a new situation. Development costs are becoming very expensive, so a true next-gen console will probably be at least $400 or more. And learning from the Ps3 release, not a healthy amount of people are not willing to pay that high. Sony has lost too much money this generation and it's not likely they will take another risk. Rumours floating that Microsoft's new Xbox is 2-3 times more powerful than the 360, which is not a big step by any means.
Did you hit your head or something?? There are loads of impressive games being released later this fall and throughout next year, plus the graphics this gen are fine and we are always seeing games improving in some technical or artistic sense. 2014 is about the right time to unleash the next-gen consoles.
Although I am starting to tire of this gens technology, it still doesn't mean I can't have fun. I mean we have some good stuff coming out, Borderlands 2, Black Ops 2, Far Cry 3, GTA V, Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3, Assassin's Creed 3, XCOM, Halo 4, Resident Evil 6, Tomb Raider, Dishonored, Forza Horizon, Dead Space 3, Hitman Absolution, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Devil May Cry, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Rainbow Six Patriots, Metal Gear Rising, Prey 2, even the new MOH Warfighter looks awesome. The list goes on. There's still room for more, and even on these platforms the graphics/lighting/textures/animations have been nothing but improving. And are you really saying all these games look stupid except for GTA V?
Graphics dont magically make a game better. I don't see next generation games being any ore fun than this generation.
smarter intergration with touch screens may be the last thing on some peoples lists, but personally i think it can help some games. it was trialled in GT5 with the PSP being ur rear view mirror, but if u can get an app for ur smart phone (microsoft have smart glass), and MOST people have smart phones now, that will increase the take-up of this previously gimmicky option. how many owners of PSP's were there divided by how many had ps3's, divided by how many people had GT5 to use one feature comparedt o how many people have an xbox+halo 4 or Black Ops 2 divided by how many people have smart phones? much more likely people will use these new features that will be bursting in next gen .
im not in a rush to grab any of the new gen consoles. ill probly wait til tax season to grab one of the systems. mainly the xbox but im enjoying my ps3 and xbox. plus there are great games coming out next year.
I'm not only about graphics, but i have to admit it kinda sucks when you see the same game on PC thats on consoles, and it looks miles better. Not only that, new technology will allow us to have more complicated physics, better a.i., and just more for the developers to work with. also, we'd be able to have many more people in a game at once for online multiplayer games. yes, im still looking forward to some games coming out in this generation, but with next gen technology, even those games could be quite a bit better. i say bring on the next gen already.

Crap games have nothing to do with systems....its designers...this isn't ps1 or n64 where the console power hinders gameplay...
you ready to pay $70-80 per game again? i'm assuming you know more pòwerful systems mean bigger game budgets, meaning the gamers end up paying more for gamesI'm not only about graphics, but i have to admit it kinda sucks when you see the same game on PC thats on consoles, and it looks miles better. nah, next gen can wait another year or even 2 in my opinion. If the next gen came out last year or this year it would barely be better than the Xbox 360. If they wait until 2014 to release the next gen, manufacturing costs will be down enough to where the average game on the next Xbox will look like Battlefield 3 on the PC maxed out and the console itself will be $300-$400 at the most.
[QUOTE="_SOULtoSQUEEZE_"]you ready to pay $70-80 per game again? i'm assuming you know more pòwerful systems mean bigger game budgets, meaning the gamers end up paying more for games I'm assuming you know there really wasn't a jump in price from last generation, and pc games have been set at 50$ for a while and they're much more powerful than consoles. Games will not be anywhere near 80$, and I'm willing to bet there will be no price increase whatsoever. Hell, some snes games used to be close to 100$ and nowadays we play games that cost wayy more than those games to make, but we only pay 60$.I'm not only about graphics, but i have to admit it kinda sucks when you see the same game on PC thats on consoles, and it looks miles better. How would it barely be better than the 360? The 360 is using like 7 year old technology. If we had new systems last year, they would be a big leap from both the 360 and ps3nah, next gen can wait another year or even 2 in my opinion. Yea they have the technology for it to be a big leap from the Xbox 360 and PS3 but it would cost to much to make, consoles are always at the very least 2-4 years behind on technology compared to PC. If they would have come out with next gen consoles last year or this year with the big leap in power/graphics everybody wants, the console alone would cost between $600-$800 and Sony found out this gen, most people are not willing to spend over $400 on a new console. As technology advances, the earlier stuff becomes cheaper, so 2 years from now when we have even better technology, the stuff thats top of the line right now will be cheap enough to put inside of a console. So in other words, if you want console games to look as good as PC games do right now, you don't want a new console to come out for at least another year or 2.

I don't think this gen is outdated yet at all. each year i enjoy the new realeases that are still grasping my attention. the graphics are brilliant in most games i play. take mass effect for instance i love the graphics that you can get from them. So all in all i think i can wait a bit longer for the next gen to come out, even then i will wait a while before getting it.
