I was just on a video games job website called "Gamasutra.com" and I came across Microsoft Game Studios, which had several job openings for their "Halo team" to create a next-generation project; built from the ground up at Microsoft Game Studios. Bungie has their own job listings, but this one came from MGS.

Apparently, the team consists of developers (and publishers) responsible for Gears of War 2 (according to the job description)

Microsoft recently created Spawnpoint Studios to develop future Halo games in-house. Though I still think any new Halo FPS game appearing on the 360 will, in someway, involve Bungie's involvement.

Im hoping all it would take is having former Bungie employees working with or for MGS to oversee the project

It's like George Lucas with anything Star Wars related. I think it makes some sense that the developer who created the universe which the game is based on should at least advise the developers and/or give their opinion about the game they're making.

yep. halo wars for example, they asked a lot of stuff from bungie to put in the game plot, just to make sure nothing would be "fake".

But Bungie game studios and Microsoft didn't end their business relationship on good terms so...I don't think Bungie would really approve anything Microsoft tryed to make using the "Halo" name, it's like a car developer creating a well known vehicle and then loosing his liscense to make more said vehicles and the company he used to work for starts making more without his help, it just wouldn't work well lol.

microsoft owns the halo IP..not bungie. it's a very simple deal..bungie will be able to create whatever game they want with microsoft support while microsoft can expand on the halo series.

It's not as if the idea of Bungie letting other developers outsource the Halo franchise hasn't been done before, Halo Wars was fairly successful as a non-Bungie Halo project, why couldn't the next game be by MGS?

So different weapons, enemies, vehicles, etc, equipment you can deploy plus 4 player online co-op with splitscreen, theater and forge = no changes since the 1st one?

Idk, they definitely need Bungies involvement if they do go through with it just to capture the Halo "feel" for sure though.

yep, me too. i mean its no masterchief, its an odst, therefore the gameplay has to change, turn into something more realistic. im curious to see how odst will look and more important, will feel. this E3 promises.
