Yeah, I know the game isn't for the 360, but I got it from the Games on Demand so I guess it counts. Anyways, I'm playing through the game on Normal again, and I think I might be ready for Hard mode (but probably not). I was wondering what I should spend all of my essence on; should I buy potions with it, or should I work to get the Unlabored Flawlessness? The only weapon I'm going to upgrade is going to be the dragon sword, and that's going to be my main weapon. But for boss fights, the Unlabored Flawlessness could come in handy. But so could some elixirs. Anyways, I just need some opinions on this.

In one play through it's possible to get upgrades for all items. From my experience (which includes beating the game and all the missions on master ninja) it's almost always better to upgrade your weapons. The dragon sword is great for most any fight, but you can beat the game using almost any one weapon. I would suggest that you beat the game on normal first then start hard mode so you know what the bosses will be like and the layout of the game design but remember bosses and enemies change on higher difficulties.

Yeah, this is my second playthrough on Normal, I've already beaten it before. Thanks for the tips, though :)

I never bothered with the Unlabored Flawlessness. Just upgrade your other weapons and always make sure you have a few elixirs handy. Hard mode isn't too hard. I recommend upgrading the Dragon Sword as soon as the upgrades are available. The Flails are good too and come in handy once you reach the ghost fish. Also, the Dabilahro is good for fighting the red dragon looking things, so upgrading that is a good idea. And make sure you know where the challenge rooms are. You get useful items for finishing those.

Yeah, those extra Lives of the Thousand Gods come in handy. But it takes a while to finish the challenges.

LoTTG are even more important in Hard mode. The bigger you life bar is, the less you need to rely on elixirs. The less elixirs you need to buy, the more money you have for upgrades.

Well, I finished my Normal game, and then tried Hard, and... I don't think I'm ready. On the part with the horseman right before the Chapter 2 Boss I used about 4 elixers. :P
