Send it back. They extended the warranty specifically for this issue to 3 years. Might as well take advantage of that. Maybe get another one with newer heat sinks.
sometimes when the 3 rings happen it doesnt mean theres something wrong wit ur 360
it could mean that ur outlet is 2 hot
disconnect things that take up alot of electricity if it shares the same outlet as ur 360
never use a power strip
if u have a fan sharin the outlet that probly da problem
it was 4 me
you can send it in but they wont fix it. the 3 red rings warranty wasnt created so everyone can milk the system, its for the people who have a real problem. Meaning if you get the 3 red rings and your xbox just stops turning on then yeah your covered.
Ive had the 3 red rings a couple times and that was when I had it plugged into a surge protector. So now I plug directly into the wall and it works fine.

thats just what happened with mine, then a day later it had the 3 red lights and they did not go away... so now i have to send it in which they said it will take 4-6 weeks... (i really wanted ncaa football 08)
Maybe instead you should ask the TC why he can't follow the rules. ;)rgsniper1
its easier and faster to receive some answers in a topic made outside the failure thread...even tough...you still came here and posted...you are not following the rules neither...

i have it connected directly into the wall, theres nothing else connected....even tough...i have a GS warranty..cant i come in and ask for a new one ?
You miss the point of the sticky threads. Gamespot ask you to use them so the forums aren't flooded with thousands of the same topic. It does a disservice to everyone else when you don't use them because you are filling the forums with topics that don't belong there.
A lot of people laugh at that, but personally I think it's important (as does the host of these forums). If you don't believe me go to the DS forums after a new pokemon game is released. You have to look through pages and pages of threads to find maybe 5 to 10 topics that aren't about pokemon. Which is really annoying when you are in the DS forums to talk about many things DS but the topics are lost amongst pekachoo things.
Gamespot therefor decided to do away with that problem by making stickied threads to use. Then when someone like you comes along and decides the rule is not for you, yeah you get your questioned answered faster by slapping gamespot and all the people who use the sticky as intended in the face. Essentially cutting to the front of the line.
Sorry if this sounds like an old man lecture it wasn't intended to come out as such, I'm sure you don't really care anyway. You'll do what you want when you want. I get that.
edit - Everyone has the same excuse... the sticky is to long and it takes to long...

Just thought I would post this as another example of how people are always trying to bypass the rules.
