No HDMI Cables With The New Xbox 360?

I cannot believe that the new Xbox 360 does not come with HDMI cables, only the standard definition cables. I understand the business aspect of it, built in Wi-Fi so they have to make the money up somehow, but come on, my old system came with HDMI cables and I paid less for it.

I did not think about it so I packed my old HDMI cables in when I traded it to EB. Got home and realized that I would have to go spend another $40 oc a new HDMI. :(

Oh well, I still love the 250 GB of space with my new Xbox 360.

Anyone else have thoughts about this?

K-Mart or Wal-Mart is where I go for my gaming related things other than Gamestop.

Yes you have to buy it separately. Don't buy those $40 cables though. You can easily find cheap ones in online stores like Amazon, eBay and monoprice for $10 bucks or less. For the record, these are the ones that I use and they do just fine.

I agree. Microsoft spend time and money developing the 360 to make it capable of playing HD, and yet it does not come with an HDMI cable. It's just a way to make more money, kind of like XBOX LIVE. I wonder if I can use the HDMI cable from the PS3?SazzyDCFC

To be fair, the PS3 doesn't have an HD cable out of the box either. No console does. And to answer your other question, yes. An HDMI cable is an HDMI cable.
