I have recently tried to play my xbox through my pc monitor, however the monitor does not have a socket for the red and white cables that come with the VGA HD Cable. i have tried to plug it into the pc and this still doesnt work. Is there something else i need to buy or have i done something wrong? cheers.
i use a monitor also ,i run sound thru my computer speakers i use a 3.5mm female to 2RCA female cable , plug the computer speakers into the 3.5 and the red and white to the RCA.

I have my Xbox 360 plugged to the monitor via KVM switch, and I had to buy one adapter for red and white cables and plug it in the microphone line-in (I have a SoundBlaster Audigy sound card btw)
Also, if your monitor has an HDMI port and 3.5mm audio out, you can use an HDMI cable and connect speakers to the monitor. That's what I'm doing until I get a receiver and some decent speakers.
