Yep, they were very dumb to drop it, but maybe now that Disney is in the picture, MAYBE they might pick it back up, do some bug fixing, tighten up the graphics and release it.

Possibly... I am assuming LucasArts scrapped it because it was starting to cost more than would be worth it given the returns from previous titles.
Since a large portion of the work is already done and Disney would have to invest little of their own capital to finish it while seeing large returns, I wouldn't be surprised... There would need to be community outreach though... Disney needs to see the game is wanted and worth their time for them to even look into it.
Unforutantely the developers that made it went under, they were called Pandemic and the last game they made was The Saboteur (very underrated IMO, I recommend it, it's for 360 and PS3).
I do hope that it might show up, but to be honest I doubt we will see a new one this gen. There was a video somewhere of early BattleFront 3 gameplay, I will try to find it. It didn't look very good to be honest, but remember this was very early stage, pre-alpha footage.

Pandemic made BF1 and 2 but 3 was being developed at Free Radical. They got bought up by Bethesda but are still in business.
It's pretty silly that they haven't made another Battlefront game.. it would make them a LOT of money.. which is usually what companies want. I guess Lucasarts doesn't care for money, or for fans.
