Good question, I think it merits some acknowledgment. No split screen widescreen, say hello to the black side markers, rendering almost 1/3 of your screen useless.

that is actaully really upsetting due to the fact my gf wanted to play the game co op tonight... i really dont want to now because my screen is going to be cut down in size.
every game that comes out now doesnt havewidescreen (ex BioShock). It should be on every single game.Strife88
What games? So far every game I've seen except Halo 3 co-op has widescreen. This is a huge screw up on it's own but if there are more of them then there is a really huge problem. MS's "next gen" flagship really isn't what it should be if it can't properly utilize a widescreen display. Halo 2 did it perfectly.
R u serious no widescreen? MS said the 720p resolution would be manditory widescreen when they revealed 3360 way back.. now their in house game doesnt have it on co-op? weird. I wonder why it's any different. -0.5 from teh score.. now new score is 9.0 only. Oh well.
Guys come on, this is the second post I've seen about this, use your noggins. There is no windscreen splitscreen co-op because the image will be stretched and distorted if it was half of the TVs height and the full TVs length... anyway playing it online with a full screen is the way to go.

It is 16x9, unless you play split screen, then they logicaly shrink the image to maintain the preportion, people need to realise this and stop complaining about it like it's a problem.
he's right. Although it may be somewhat frustrating, Bungie did this so that they could maintain the aspect ratio. If they would only cut the screen horizontally in half but mainatin the full vertical length, the ratio would go from 16x9 to16x4.5 which is just wierd! I personally think that Bungie should have released an option to chose both ratios. whatever, just press "zoom" or increase the "pic size" on your TV...you could prob find those options on your TV's remote.

I'm not sure if it's logical or not but it sure does suck. Other FPS's on this system and others fill up the screen. I could care less if the pic is cropped or not at least give us a choice. Part of the appeal of the Halo series is multi player split screen and online. It's a FPS that's like a party game as well.
