I was lookin at buyin a 360 and im tryin to figure out if i should buy premium or core. With core, theres no hard drive. Do you need a hard drive to play certain games or can u just buy a memory card?
Premium much better quality for your money. Plus you will need to buy a hardrive to save games and go online. Memory card is much to small if you want to download demo's and go online.
dude - wait a few weeks and spend the money and ge the new black 360 with the larger HDD (YES!!! YOU WILL NEED A HARD DRIVE!!!) and from what I hear - better features. I think it is going to run for $480.00 - but you will regret getting the core and wished you would have waited for the new one (if you get the "premium" 360)

That's too expensive, why would you want a larger HDD?
it is only 80 bucks more - supposed to have hdmi ports and more features that i guess were too costly to put into the 1st version - and you dont know what this guy plans on putting on his xbox. he may be a movie lover and end up going nuts on the marketplace. either way - it is cheaper to get it that way then to buy it in pieces.
Don't get the black, but definately get the hard drive. I suppose if you want to do the memory card route that's okay, but honestly, for the extra hundred you can store as much stuff as you could possibly imagine. PLUS if you have original Xbox games, they can only be played if your 360 has the hard drive.
Do you think with the new black xbox coming out, the premium setup will cost less? I'm only 17 and I live in Canada. The premium pack comes to 567 after all is said and done which is still alot for a system. At sourcecc they are throwing in Gears of War with their premium bundle for free.
The jury is still out on whether the black 360 is an April fool's joke or not. If you think not, wait. I personally am sceptical about it (I'll believe it when I see it). In answer to your original question, get the Premium. If you want to take full advantage of the Xbox 360, you will want a hard drive to save updates/downloadable content/demos/tv shows/movies/you name it. The 20GB HDD is $100. So by the time you've bought that plus a Core, you might as well have just bought a Premium, except that you're stuck with a crappy wired controller from the Core system. In answer to your second question, if the rumoured black 360 is released at $480, no the Premium won't get a price cut. Why would MS cut the price? The Premium is still cheaper than the black 360, and way cheaper than the PS3.
