That's great. One less game to buy this year. And they need to make sure this game is the best it can be.
This is good news for me...Now I won't have to feel bad choosing between ME3 and Skyrim 8)spazzx625
LOL, and what are you going to say when Skyrim gets delayed? A lot more delays are coming folks. We won't have jack to play this holiday. You release this means another long year of waiting, right?

At the risk of sounding redundant I'm not surprised either. Most games with a Dec 31st release date never get released that year. Frankly the more time they spend on it ME3 hopefully the better it will be. Plus I will be buying so many games this fall a I don't really mind a few delays.
Ugh...I saw that when I came to Gamespot a few minutes ago. The "end of year" release date did seem a bit shaky, so I'm not totally surprised. Let's just hope this is the only delay.
I'm thinking maybe they didn't want it competing with games like Gears of War 3 and possibly Zelda.
Also, it might be a tactic to drum up hype to maximize sales. It'll be an awesome game, though.
Im really not suprised at all, especially with a ton of good games coming out this fall like Skyrim, Gears 3, Deus Ex. Usually the beginning of every year there is like 1 or 2 great games that come out and it looks like Mass effect 3 will be one of them.
Sad news, but I'd rather they put out a solid game than a weak one. You can't take a bad game back once it's out there, and Bioware needs to be on solid ground financially with TOR coming up pretty soon. Here's hoping that one's as great as they've been building it up to be.

so right.I kind of expected it since the release date kept on saying Dec 31, 2011. On their part it was a good move. This fall will already be too crowded and it gives them more time to make a better polished product. If I waited this long I can wait a little longer.
As long as they are really making this game MORE amazing than they planned on, I have no problem waiting.
[QUOTE="magnusm1"]This is exactly how I feel. I've always been worried about a game like this having a 2011 release date. They need to make this game amazing.Good news. That means it won't be rushed, and in the long run, that matters.

Honestly though, did anyone truly think this would be rushed? Most games only have a two year dev cycle. Two and a half years is plenty for Bioware to do there thing. But if their getting another half year to build it, I'm not complaining.

honestly, I was afraid they'd rush it. Dragon Age 2 had some nasty bugs upon release. I prefer to wait and play a great game over playing a rushed and thereby spoilt game sooner.
