Ever since I got my HDTV, my 360 won't play DVDs. It just shows a black screen, and I need to press the power button on the system to turn it off. I tried changing the black balance (or what ever it's called) and it didn't work. Everything else works, like games and even downloaded videos. Does anyone know what's wrong?

it wont matter if the dvds are burned or not but the av cables (the coulorfull ones) you will need to plug in the red blue and green ones in to the same coloured holes and you need to turn the switch on the end of the cable that plugs into the xbox onto HDTV that may be the problem

above post is probably correct, also check your t.v's native resolution and make sure your screen settings aren't adjusted above that.

Everything is set up right. Everything else works, including downloaded videos (and games)

Well, I can tell you're obviously not putting the wires where they're supposed to go.

You don't just get a black screen when trying to play DVDs unless something isn't plugged in correctly.

Get an HDMI cable if you can't figure it out.

if his a/v cables were placed improperly, nothing including the dashboard would show up, since he see's the dashboard, and apparently has everything else done correctly, it could in fact be his dvd drive.
