Please help

Dude, to be completely honest, I would go with a PS3. 360 is better now and has the better controller and Live is just AMAZING, but the 360 WILL break. Now with Blu Ray winning out, PS3 is going to gain alot of ground. 360 is better and might always be better, but the fact it breaks constantly (I'm on my 3rd since Christmas!) really makes it worthless to me.

I owned a PS3 but never used it, its a great system just I found 360 to be more interesting also seeing all my online friends I hang with online. Anyway my only warning is be prepared to send it back to them probably every 4-6 months for repair because they are very unreliable. I have gone through 3 of them in a year its brutal.

Online it seems like everyone says it breaks but out of 5 or 6 people I know only one of them had their 360 break and it only broke once and one of my friends owns a PS3 and a 360 and he says the only thing good about a PS3 is you can use it as a regular computer. I think that you guys are just to rough with it

My box sits on my desk nice and open area and is never moved and it breaks lol. Everyone I know except 2 has had to get a new on that being about 4-5 people in real life, and about 20-30 friends on XBL

yeah definitely the risk is worth it, 360s are extremely fun and addicting I have a friend who had both PS3 and 360 and the PS3 was more erratic and unreliable it started crashing and freezing so he said oh well got rid of the ps3 and kept the 360 and hasent had any problems with it since 2006, so yeah the risk is worth the chance from all the unbelievable games to the live service you cant go wrong I love my 360 and cant stop playing, the only problem is I gotta get more sleep and stop my playing time at 2am thats how addicting this thing is bro I say go for it I trust you won't be disappointed with it unless you wing your 360 off the roof into your neighbor's house during his afternoon nap. happy gaming all!! peace8)

Well I think I will go with a 360, I have owned a PS2 for about 5 years and it only freezes if you play champions of norath for too long but that happens to all my friends plus if you buy one with a warranty and it breaks you can get a new one for free my friend brought his 360 over my house by riding his bike with it over his shoulder and it was fine.

The 360 huge variety of games, online is amazing, marketplace has 1000s of downloads, pay $50 a year for online play, you have to worry about it breaking, no blu-ray yet and when they do its gonna be around $200, another $100 if you want wireless internet. The rrod is the thing that gets me the most angry. MS is doing nothing to fix the problem and theyve known about it for over 2 years now. ITS RIDICULOUS!!

It is a good investment. I've had friends complain about hardware failure, only to sign on to live at 2 am to see that they're online and inactive (don't have a game in the tray or playing an XBLA game). In other words, they left it on all night. Just take care of it and you should be fine, though there are certainly exceptions, but MOST RROD have been the product of inferior hardware AND misuse, rather than hardware issues exclusively. Take care of it, and enjoy the games on Live. Regardless of what happens with the PS3 and the "console war," you can be sure that where online MP is concerned, Live will always beat PSN. By the way your post sounds, it seems like this is one of your major interests. Go for it.

I'd go for an Xbox. my neighbour has an PS3 that I've been on alot, but they don't have a huge amount of games for reasons...

besides, It's not definately going to break after a while, I've had mine for well over a year and the only time I got a RROD was when the power supply was really loose -

I was on the fence about buying a 360 too. I decided to get one. I'm really happy I did. That was about 1 1/2 years ago, and my 360 is still running good. I know about 10 people who have had a 360 and they are still running. 3 of my friends have an originally launched 360. It still runs good too. Some good advice would be buy it from Best Buy and get their warrenty, so if it does break, you can just bring it back and get a new one, instead of sending it off to Microsoft for 3 or 4 weeks.

you can use wirelss controller on a core. you should really think about saving for a new 360. The new chip will be out in short and you wll be alot happier in the longrun. or check ebay just be cautious.

Get a 360 but get it new. I'm on my 3rd. Just plan on getting the RROD at some point and dont be suprised when you do. They fix it for free and it doesnt take that long. At least they are taking care of the problem for you. I have a PS3 and its cool but the 360 is much more fun.

Get the arcade if you need to save money, it comes w/ a memory card and a wireless controller for $80 more than the used core which has neither.(280.00 vs 200.00)
