I was wondering, should I turn up the difficulty setting on Oblivion to make it harder or does it adjust to your level of gameplay? I thought I read somewhere that it gets harder depending on how you play it. I only just started playing it so I wanted to know before I get to far into it. Thanx.

The more you turn it up, the more likely you will die, and the stronger your opponents get (health wise).

Turning up the difficulty seems to make it easier to level your damage stats (blade, hand to hand, blunt, destruction, etc). If storyline is getting too easy just turn up the difficulty a bit.

on the hardest setting, enemies do 6times as much damage when compared to the normal setting. Where as, on the easiest setting, they do 1/6 damage.

I'll accept your answer and hope it is so. Can anyone else confirm this and if so, how much of andvantage will my damage stats do over playing it easy level if I'm playing medium to upgrade my damage stats?

If I played ok, would it be fmore easy at medium level instead of easy and I won't have to spend hours to get through?

I think that no matter where you change the difficulty to that traps always to the same amounts of damage. I turned the difficulty real low and if you get smacked by a falling log trap or trap door, they do massive amounts of damage.

turning it up to like 8/10 the way to the max makes that game impossible against some enemies, at least with a low level character i never tried it with a high level one. also makes the oblivion gates a joke since you get massacred by those stupid dinosaur type things that constantly ram you and stagger you 3 or 4 times in a row while doing like 3x as much damage.

it makes it easier to level because each individual opponent takes more hits to kill. I play 3/4 up.

Is it too easy or hard for you right now? You must be playing at medium. Just curious.

You press start during gameplay and then go to options>gameplay>difficulty
