So, all of a sudden my horse is missing. Granted it was the stupid slow painted horse so for a while it wasn't that big of a deal. It didn't die or anything, it just stopped appearing. Like I said it wasn't a big deal. But now, I have just become a higher rank in the Dark Brotherhood Guild and gotten my ShadowMere. As I went outside to get my blazing fast horse... It was nowhere in sight. It never appeared. I retried the quest three times already and the horse NEVER shows up... It sucks because I don't have the gold to fork over for a horse right now, and the quests require far far far travel, and it appears that both horses dissapearing can not be some coincidence... Any ideas

I know it returns... But I've never even had the chance to get on it. It never appears in the first place.

Well the next quest is a place way far away from where I've ever traveled. I guess I'll just have to save up, buy a horse, and hope it doesn't disappear on me.

you don't have to get on shadowmere for her to appear at fort farragut. also, if you fast travel to the imperial city waterfront and walk across that stone path across the water, the paint horse should be near that big gate. but like somebody already said, train until you have 100 athletics and you should be fine. get some water-walking enchantments and you should have no worries.

The world isn't that big so it can't be that far away. Even if you rely on fast travel or horses to get around you should be able to get there relativly quick on your own. And you can fast travel to cities even if you have never been there. I've completed all the main quest and downloadable content and never used a horse.

Yea the same thing happened to me. Never got back Shadowmere. But, as the others have already said, you don't really need the horse. It's just stupid that you lose the indestructable horse you're given.

nobody wants to use the horse anyways since you can't attack while mounted, which would be hella sweet.
