I just recently began playing Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion again and noticed that the value of downloading Shivering Isles and Knights of Nine from XBL is 10$ more than it would cost to pick up a copy of the GOTY edition from amazon.com(40$ compared to just 30$). Now I doubt it, but would my Oblivion character from the original disc carry over to the GOTY edition disc? Or maybe xbox 360 will view it as completely different games and therefore the downloadable content and characters I have will not cross over. If anyone has any definitive answer that'd be cool. Also, does the Platinum Hits box contain all the additions at 30$ when they still offer the GOTY editions for the same value.
The GOTY Edition comes with 2 discs. One with the original game, and one with the expansions. Once you install it to the HDD, you won't need it again. If you can, just rent the GOTY Edition from Blockbuster or Hollywood Video. EDIT: And yes, it will carry over fine since the first disc in the GOTY edition is identical to the original Oblivion Disc.
