The game is a little dated compared to current games out right now on the box, but in all honesty, it did come out right around when devs were just starting to learn to use the box.
Its still a great game, and I love every bit of it. The framrate can get little crappy, and for the love of god dont look at your character jump either. lol
The graphics are not bad, but crap character models and extremely bad performance on the 360. Not to mention the simplified combat, short main quest, bad leveling system, less guilds than morrowind, large, but boring environments with no reason to spend the time exploring them because there are no rare items out there that you couldn't buy from a merchant. I recommend The Witcher, its a really good RPG, definitely underrated.

Post patch it matces the PS3 for performance (if you have a harddrive)
I think the graphics,well scenery is really good especially when you exut the sewers it one of the most un forgettable baming experiances you will ever have
If you're looking for good graphics, this isnt the game for you. I just got through playing Oblivion and the graphics look really outdated. It's like a bad port from an old-gen system. You know one of those? Anyways. And if you dont have patience, cant stand listening to tons of dialogue and reading tons of content, then this isnt the game for you either. And the game engineering and physics is nothing to brag to your friends. Like someone said earlier, dont watch your character jump in 3rd person, or dont look at your person in 3rd person at all, for that matter. The PC Version looks a lot better than the Xbox 360. They dumbed down a lot of the graphics so the Xbox 360 can handle it. It just wasnt a great experience for me. But what can you do, lesson learned.
yeah I think the graphics are very good actualy. Id recommend you to download the magic character's caste. once you see the view from up there(high in the mountains) you're sold.:P

I can never get enough mana to cast spells which is really obnoxious
