You have to kill someone that is not evil and who does not attack you first. Go into any city and kill a citizen while he/she sleeps. Leave and go to sleep somewhere. A Dark Brotherhood representative will then visit you in your sleep.
Edit: The victim does not have to be asleep, it is just easier than starting a murderous rampage in broad daylight.
the way i got my invitation was by killing the last combatant in the arena. u get money,level ups, achevements and its fun to do...takes a while but u finish one "guild" and get offered to join another.
