I just picked this up and have been playing it for 3 days and have lost sleep. This may be the best game i've played on the 360. I really like the quests in thsi game I'm just runnign around doing the thieves guild and other random quests and ahvent touched the main storyline yet and am loving it. I also played fallout and will definately go back and give it another look after this. Something about the world in oblivion really grabbed me though.

It's alright. I enjoyed it at first but it grew stale pretty fast. Disappointing too.

Just started playing it last week and gave it another go just then. It's slow at first (similar to fallout 3) but things are starting to geth good now that I've found the Arena. I hope it can keep me entertained until forza 3 and borderlands. =)

Still one of the best value for money games on the market, especially the game of the year edition. Best rpg i've played to date. Enjoyed the witcher on pc as a darker grittier more authentic fantasy rpg but it is much more linear in it's scope than oblivion. The assasins guild missions in oblivion are classic stuff for those have a certain contempt for human life. The freedom of the game play is great, you have hours apon hours of exploration and side quests before you ever touch the main quest. As a thief i made a mint just picking pockets around the imperial city, also got enough sneaking skill and some chameleon gear to be able to sneak to the top of sigil towers and steal the stones right out from under their their noses; or playing again as a warrior i honed my combat skills to cut a bloody trail through demon hordes to claim my prize. **** hot! Most people i know have played oblivion through twice before it gets stale, and even then many return in the sparse times between new releases to loiter in its shadows.... or watch from its mountain heights..... This game is one of the classics.

Yes it is! The first thing I did was the Dark Brotherhood missions and they are awesome to start out on. Also, you'll want to go find the Umbra Sword and Armour while you are still at a low level. Google it.

I must admit that I enjoyed Oblivion a lot more on the PC after installing mods like Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. It addressed the issue of creatures levelling with your character, among other things, and I had a mod that slowed down skill progression as well. Made it a much more enjoyable experience for me, and I invested over a thousand hours into the game (across several characters doing different quest-lines).

Anyway, the game is still great whatever the platform, and I don't know why so many people seem to dislike it or rag on it so much. It may not have the depth of some other 'traditional' RPGs (in terms of the questlines), but I liked the 'sandbox' nature of it and just exploring the world, finding new things to do. I did miss the lack of any underwater locations to explore, though (which were more prevalent in Morrowind).

The Shivering Isles expansion is also very good, and highly recommended.

one of my favorite 360 games, i remember passing christmas(back in 07) playing the hell out of this game, good times... Morrowind is still my favorite ES game though, and by far.
