Today I was thinking about which game I should get and I found out I don't know so I came to Gamespot and checked their ratings and it turns out they both have the same rating! So I need a few of you Gamespotters to tell me which game is better? Gears or Oblivion???:)wiiman78
depends. Do you like intense shooters or endless rpgs. They're both equal in my opinion.
I think Oblivion has a better story and replay value
I completed GOW in 3 days and dont play it anymore, most of online is filled with kids and racists

I like bothwell I'll explain it then
value= Oblivion
gameplay=geow
graphics=geow
its up to you really
I loved Oblivion so much that I maxed out a character and did every quest in the game. It took me almost 300 hours over the last year and a half.
Gears has a great single-player/ co-op but it's pretty short. That and the multiplayer is very repetitive. I played it for about 3 weeks and haven't touched it since (except to see how good it looked on my new HD a couple of weeks ago).

Fixed
3 weeks isnt that short, it must of been somewhat fun if you played it for 3 weeks before finally getting bored.I loved Oblivion so much that I maxed out a character and did every quest in the game. It took me almost 300 hours over the last year and a half.

So what is better to u?[QUOTE="jarhead1990"]Gears of war has an amazing campaign & online co-op play. The multiplayer is kinda bad. Get Oblivion if you like RPGs though.wiiman78
Well it depends whats you're preference? Shooters or RPGs?
I haven't played gears of war but I think it would b kinda hard to beat oblivion with or without expansions....The game takes a long time for you to say da ja vu.........or however you say it. It's diff every time u make a new character....u can also make ur character look like u if u spend enough time with it.
Before I start it is Gears of War not Gears of War 2 as Gears of War 2 is currently in production (TBA).
Personally I would go for Oblivion due to the fact that it is one of a kind game, the gameplay is nice even though there are some glitches and bugs but the achievements are really achievable, piece of cake really. Gears of War on the other hand is fun and popular also, well to American players anyways but the online achievements can be a real pain getting. Overall both games are good.
So which game is better? Also it seems that oblivion is whippin gear's a$$Before I start it is Gears of War not Gears of War 2 as Gears of War 2 is currently in production (TBA).

Oblivion: Great game with over 200 hours of game, with each character you create, awesome graphics and replay value, no online playability, does not get old.. easy archivements :P
Gears of War: Cool graphics, great single player, but is just somewhat easy and is too short, online enabled.. but is full od idiots (i'm mexican i hope you get my point) so i prefer Perfect Dark Zero over this game in online, i just dont udestand how this game got a high score here in replay value...
Oblivion is better in my opinion because Gears of War is short and should have more missions. Oblivion is a beautiful open world game that is fun and the achievements are not that hard. Get Oblivion it is great.

I bought Rainbow Six at about the same time and I still play the MP in that regularly. Yet with Gears I had zero interest in the game at all within 3 weeks of casually playing it. That a big difference there. I'd rate Gears very poorly in the replay category.
Back when Gears of War first came out, I'd say get Gears....but the community on Gears is one of the worse around now.
Get Oblivion.
