I am sick of Oblivion. In my opinion, it is the most overrated game ever. I bought it the first day it came out for PC, and I was so jacked up to play it. After a while though, I realized it is a glossed over version of a stripped down Morrowind. There is so much less content. Also, the lack of "special" equipment really bothered me. This is just a rant I want to get out there to see reactions.

It's one of my favourite games, and it's easily recommended to anyone who just got a 360 and is looking for a game or heck to anyone who doesn't have it yet.

btw yes I've played Morrowind and I bought the PC collectors edition of oblivion when it first came out, and then I bought it for the 360 later because my pc didnt play it very smoothly or at full graphics. I don't understand you, when you talked to a NPC in morrowind it was like reading a book, and fighting someone was just simple clicking, nothing else you could do. I really liked what they did with oblivion, it's an awesome improvement on everything.

I'm not mad at you, you are entitled to your opinion. If you don't like the game, I don't think you need to make a whole topic about it though....

Well, I liked Oblivion if that counts for anything....

I loved it. And Morrowind was way too buggy & didn't have as much focus as Oblivion, it was all over the place. Opinions vary but I loved it a lot more than Morrowind.

The combat, control scheme, and general interactivity of everything in the world in Oblivion was leaps and bounds better than Morrowind. I think you might be a victim of nostalgia -- you remember the game better than it really was. If you were to go back and play the game again you'd realize how much better Oblivion is.

You're free to consider Oblivion overrated, of course, but if you consider it overrated and consider Morrowind a good game I have to wonder what's wrong with you. Oblivion takes everything Morrowind did and does it 20x better, and also fixes a lot of Morrowind's issues.

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but I have to disagree. Morrowind is a great game, one of my favorites. I went back and tried to play Morrowind again after playing Oblivion to death. Couldn't do it. Among other things, the constant swinging through your opponents because your hits are based on friggin' dice rolls and the fact you have to switch between weapon mode and spell mode... ugh, drove me nuts. I'll just remember Morrowind as the great game it was at the time I played it and leave it at that.

The journal and combat system alone in Morrowind makes Oblivion the far, far superior game. It really isn't even close. How can you possibly go back to that horrible combat and that tragically designed quest system after playing Oblivion, with its fun combat and beautifully organized quest journal? And don't even get me started on the glitches. Morrowind was at times a chore to play through. Don't get me wrong, I liked the game, but it isn't a stretch to say that I probably had more fun exploring that huge world than doing much of anything else in it. In Oblivion there's a lot more interesting stuff to do and take part in, on top of exploring the world, which is also fun.

I felt leveling up really didn't even matter, infact I completed most of the main missions at level 5, this game has no sense of power, I just wish I could go back to some caves and just own people, but noooo, the people level up as you do, stupid.

I think Oblivion is a great game because of how long you can play it for and it never gets old. I think Gears of War is a really overrated game in my opinion.

There are a few games I consider overrated on the 360- Gears of War, DiRT, PGR 3, and Hour of Victory (it was so bad that a 0/10 is overrating it...and scored don't get lower).

Oblivion isn't one of those games, by a long shot. I went back and played some Morrowind on the PC, and with some various graphics and combat mods, it worked well, and didn't feel quite archaic as it otherwise would have. Still, Oblivion is leaps and bounds better than Morrowind.

The reason this kind of annoys is not because you think Oblivion is overrated, but because the two examplesyou site are just flat out wrong. I have some beef with Oblivion (grantedthey are nothingcompared to all of the good things), but lack of unique items (there are TONS) and lack of content (in general, and/or compared to Morrowind) are simply wrong. Therefore I agree thatthis guyeither hasn't playedOblivion or is just trolling.

The 360 version of Obliion is very bland, it's a good game, but bland. PC is where it's at if you can run it on your machine, because the mods out for it make it infinitely better. I cannot play vanilla Morrowind or Oblivion after having played the countless mods that improve upon the game so much.

I agree completely, and was in the exact same position as yourself. I was very hyped for the game, purchased the PC version as soon as it came out, and played the crap out of it for the first couple weeks or so... but it didn't take long for me to realize the game was much more shallow, and I had a lot of problems with bugs on the PC version that they never really bothered to fix. The game should've received an 8-something at best...

morrowind had more freedom, and thats what makes me like it better than oblivion. oblivions voice acting was HORRIBLE other than some of the main characters, i would rather have read the text. as others have said, leveling means nothing and the whole leveling system seems like it was designed by 1st graders(though this was also in morrowind). leveling creatures as you leveled in oblivion was MUCH more noticable in oblivion and absolutely ruined much of endgame for me(im effin lvl 30 i want to feel powerful). the main thing that ruined this was a bad damage system where battles with more then 2 high lvl enemies could take forever, and that just made the combat system completely stale. you never felt like you could just dominate a cave with low lvl stuff in it because there WERE NO CAVES with low lvl stuff. most of the zombies just had way too much health for their own good (though they were easy because of their horrible AI and the fact that you could avoid all of their attacks). jeez i dont wanna go on. the game in general just seemed like it had little to no playtesting.

Oblivion isn't overrated, but I do agree thatMorrowind is better. And I played Morrowind after I played through Oblivion. Oblivion feels so small and empty when compared to Morrowind. And in Morrowind you actually have to try harder at things and the skills and attributes felt like they mattered more. And I wouldn't say Oblivion's bounds ahead of Morrowind either. The game basically holds your hand through it and everything was dumbed down. I liked actually having to search for things and talking to people for info and directions, rather than "Look green/red arrow let's go there for our quest" "Blah, blah, skip talking bit, look next arrow let's go there" It was too easy.

Id have to disagree, i love this game so much. Sure closing the oblivion gates can become a chore after awhile, but there is so much to the game besides that.
