I personaly dont think the PS3 version looks that much better. Even if it did, who cares. We got it ayear before they did, so were basicaly done wtih it and moved on to the next best thing. Like Forza 2.

Well forza 2 isn't that great IMO, we're getting RB6V in 4 days, i'm excited about that, could care less if you beat it 7 months ago.
Isnt there a good chance it will turn ou tlike most Ubisoft ports to the PS3?
There has been mention of a graphics update that will bring the x360 graphics to the PS3 "level" its not an over haul just an update. the only thing we don't know is when.GrayHalo
I thought taht update already came out.

I know what you meant to say "Ubisoft ports to te PS3", and yeas there is a pretty good chance of that. I'm not saying that because i hate PS3, but because i don't actually believe in Ubisoft to make a port that is equal to the first version. Hell EA makes better ports, too bad their games suck in the first place making it so ports can't get worse (lately their games have sucked should i say cause hell i loved Madden 05).
Anywho...... you won't see a graphics update for Oblivion. Yea they have upgraded the draw distance with each update (or most of them) and the textures are a tad better (or something), but really they arn't very noticable. Mainly i think people trick themselves into believing it is noticable (like when they come onto the forms the minute the update comes out and says it is huge difference). They focus on it so hard that they truly make it a HUGE upgrade themselves.
So my answer is no graphics over haul, but perhaps the small upgrades like draw distance.

no actually theyre updating alot of the terrains and textures on armor and yes there is a big difference, if u look at certain textures on oblivion zoomed in by clicking the right stick enabling camera mode u can notice how blurry and fuzzy a lot of the textures are closer
Did you not understand my point of when i talked about the people who focus on what the updates did. Really i could care less that the walls look less fuzzy from .3 cm away...... The fact is when i play the game i don't focus in on all that crap. If it isn't extremely noticable from far away then why do i want to look extremely close? Now, yes i have noticed the draw distance increase, but it isn't like the game looks better from it... when i am walking i can still see them pop up out of nowhere, but now i can from farther away :).
Like i said the updates are a graphics over haul, but more of small upgrades everywhere. They upgrade the graphics, but not to the point of a brand new wowing effect.
Also with the draw distance... Yes it is noticable (if you played the game before the update), but not after it has been out this long i don't notice it. Truly i think if i went back to no update i don't know if i would be able to notice a large decrease, but perhaps a small one. But like i said these things are SMALL updates and upgrades.
If they were HUGE updates and upgrades then i would still notice them right now. The fact is that they arn't large enough to create a new wow factor (meaning things would have to look quite a bit better). The updates have been released and some have passed and as of now the only way i would realise what they truly did with the updates would be to look at the file showing what they did with the updates. If they were large updates i may remember more than a draw distance.
Isnt there a good chance it will turn ou tlike most Ubisoft ports to the PS3?black_awpN1While it will probably be lack on the technical side, the PS3 version ads in additional multiplayer content over top of the base and dlc from the 360. Its an odd trend but PS3 versions of pretty much anything tend to ship with additional MP content, especialy nice in R6. There is also use of sixaxis in places. While I think GRAW2 will be of better build quality, least they're getting better. As for Oblivion, the gfx update would only ever be minor considering the PS3 version can ship with higher textures, and already ships with additional content.

yea but if textures look more realistic close up then they do more so farther away, trust me theres a big diff between armor textures from 360 to ps3 and pc
