Lack of self control usually does that to you. I buy the games for the games themselves, not for the achievement points. For example, I don't love sports games, so I loose a lot of points if I would really care, but why buy the game just for the points if you don't even like the game itself one single bit? Just defeats the purpose all over again, as far as I'm concerned. Plus, those games cost a lot, I'm not buying them + and Xbox Live account just to show off your score. And I have still hobbies, work, etc. to attend to, I can't waste my time playing 4-5 hours in multiplayer just for ONE achievement...

I feel sorry for the people who are willing to buy a score to brag to other people i/e shell out money for a number. I'm sure there's got to be some users out there whose primary focus is to increase their gamerscore...

I buy my games to play them with achievements being asecondary means of increasing a game's replay value and competitive edge against friends. Enough said.

I'm obsessed in the sense that I always want to get the 100% mark out of the games I buy. But I'm a rational buyer, so I'm not shelling out money for easy achievments. Achievements are kind of like the new age high score board, it's all about bragging rights.

im not obsessed but it gives me something to do if and when i get bored of the game. its fun to compare with your mates( and for bragging rights :) ) and its the good feeling when you finally get that achivement thatyou have been waiting ages for.

There the next big thing, now you have something to show for your time. Also proof that you saved the princess on hard.
