I had 2 of my 360's fail on me and I have to admit, they were in small, tight places. I've heard that placing a fan near it and, obviously, placing it in a ventilated place would help decreasing the freezing and overheating I encountered, but I'm not sure where exactly the fan is supposed to be placed. Would it be in front of an area where the air comes in, basically blowing fresh air in it, or behind it, not in front of where the hot air gets out, to disperse the heat a bit. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

I use a fan... It's sort of a computer fan that plugs to normal 110 electricity I got in a hardware store. I put it in the back of the 360 so it helps suck hot air out... works like a charm and I haven't got a single freeze since december 06.

if you want to be radical about cooling your 360 take one of those ice gel packs you keep in the freezer and put it ontop of your 360. i have never done it, but it just came to mind, and it could work, theres no water to worry about... well except condensation. but this is only if you're radical about cooling your xbox

You could also try setting up whatever unit its placed in with fans, sort of like a computer case. It could be a little bit of work but if done right it could be cool, put 2 or 3 fans blowing cool, fresh air in, and 2 or 3 exhaust fans. I like this idea, I think I might look into doing this myself, it will keep all of your AV equipment nice and cool.
