Its a Philips 20'' LCD. It has the Component (green, blue, red) outlets in the back and I think it can do the VGA: (When I go to the Video screens theres a PC screen which I would guess mean VGA is possible, HD screen, s-video screen, and AV screen.) Does this mean its HD?

if you look on the component plugs on you're xbox 360 cables there should be 6 cable, the back of you're tv should have 5 different colour plugs for you to put you're component cables into.

the only thing is that i'm not sure it would be worth getting an HD-DVD player for a 20" screen

Well we have a 42" tv and have decided not to get a hd dvd player yet because blu ray could pull through in the battle for the next gen dvd's!

ignore the yellow one (component is much better input than AV), and plug the end of the cord with the RGB jacks into the RGB slots, and plug the end of the cord with the red and white jacks into the other red and the first white slot

There is a 99% chance that it is HD. There are some widescreen, flat panel tvs that are marketed as "Enhanced Definition" (ED). What Id do is hook your 360 up with the component cables and then adjust the resolution. If you see something at 720p or i (or higher) I believe it meets the HD definition (I believe 480p is not considered HD).If you don't see anything, then you don't have an HDTV.

Ok STOP right there...the HD DVD add on is not going to make any difference on a 20" tv regardless if it is HD or not

In my experience the VGA on LCD monitors are the way to go. Usually the component are a cheap add on to make you buy the screen.

yeah, the hd-dvd add-on really is not going to make much of a difference on a 20" tv... i wouldn't recommend it.

also, lcd monitors are pretty much always "hd". computers were doing high def way before tvs, with resolutions like 800 X 600 and higher being much closer to high def than progressive scan... i would just about guarantee it's an hd capable monitor, unless you bought it like 10 years ago.
