Ok right heres my post,

Im thinking of getting a vga cable for my t.v (which has vga input) and ive heard the picture would be better, its a LG 20" tele, heres a link

(Sorry i don't know how to put actually hyperlinks in forums :P)

Is it worth it to get a vga cable? Is it better than the component cables?

Thanks :)

I got a VGA cable for my monitor it's really worth it way better picture. Just remember you need a source for audio if you don't have speakers on your monitor.

Its a LCD t.v, not a monitor ( soz if that seems arogent to say that :P) and it has speakers like a normal t.v does, will the speakers still work?

I think VGA is better than component, not much though. I have a 50' Plasma and to make it look better than component I had to spend like 5 minutes in the image menu. Although the color is better with component the image looks sharper with VGA, I had to almost max the color to match component's.

I have also been wondering if it would be worth going with the vga to hdmi on my 56 DLP. Its not 1080p, so I was unsure if it would be worth the cost of the cables.

i use a VGA for my monitor and looks really good but I dont know if its worth $40 extra for a little better picture. I had to get one cause thats the only way to hock it up to a monitor and I thought $40 was a lot.

Well, I have the cables but I'm using an LCD monitor and not a TV. But from what I hear VGA produces a marginally better image than component. So it's really up to you: Is $40 worth a marginally better image? -K

Would comparison pics show the difference or would you not be able to tell?

It's really down to what you really want. The Image Quality is marginally better on VGA, but is that worth paying $40 for the VGA cable? If yous ay yes, then go for it. In my case, I will stay with component, $40 for just a slight better quality is not really worth it to me.

When you say "superior" do you mean like gameware products which are just a cheap imitation?

If i have a laptop that supports high def. and has a VGA output or w.e, would i just plug that into my laptop and turn my 360 on and it would just work like a TV? Also does it allow audio as well?

I swear by the VGA cable. It's much sharper than component. Some people complain about the color washout, but the color's washed out on component too. It's why analog sucks and MS decided to release a 360 with HDMI. But if you've got a Core or a Preemie, your best option is VGA.
