Please help me in what I am about to explain. I have had my 360 since 06 so I have been dealing with this problem for 3 years. I have Yahoo DSL it's ok at times but I if I could switch to a better connection I would do it in a heart beat. I used a wired connection, problem is the ethernet cable I use is constantly stepped on or tripped over. The distance from my room to the modem is over 25 feet so a lot can happen to the cable. I have gone through 3 ethernet cables over the past 3 years. People break the cable from tripping over it so I have to buy a new one. Well a similar thing happened and I am sick of it happening. I want to have a wireless connection just like my ps3. I don't want to buy that ridiculous adapter that M$ sells. I want an inexpensive or cheaper way to have a wireless connection. I'm not a pro at this so I need your help. Thanks p.s. Would I my internet connection suffer since it's wireless. When I play Killzone 2 I hardly ever lag but when I play Gears 2 it's a lag fest. Thank you an advance to anyone that responds. (two people out of pity for me haha)

That's a great idea but that's tacky.

You can also use a laptop and bridge your connection.

Put the cable under the floor or through the walls. Sounds like you always have your console in the same place, so this would be ideal. I have a 30m cable run through the walls and floor to reach the modem and it works fine. The only parts of it that are visible is where it comes out of the wall at each end, and that is usually hidden behind other furniture

get a longer cable and tack it to the skirting boards, it wont look messy at all and will be trip free or run it under the carpet.

I know that guy said he has no problems with his wireless connection, but my buddy had the same thing and had all kinds of lagging issues. I think he too had a DSL type of connection. So just something to think about.

There is a product that uses your home's electrical wires, you have two adapters that plug into two electrical sockets. ****** Powerline, check it out, kind of pricey.

this sounds like the best solution. just tape it to the bottom edge of your wall so it will be less in the way

Along with the person that mentioned using the outlets. There's also Wireless Logitech Play Link. It's a 1.5 meg connection it carries but it's no lag. Can be had on line for about $45.oo last I checked, actually right now I googled and found a set for $23.99 from an individual.

The best thing about these is that it carries a signal that can be used by anything that can go through your router ie. laptop, 360, PS3, PS2, Vonage... you name it.

You know what you could do, just move your modem into your room, and buy a wireless hookup for your computer. They're much cheaper to buy them for your computer then they are for your Xbox. I've done it and my computer runs fine, my XBox never lags because the modem is like a foot away from it, it works great.
