I got a brand new Olevia 37" Widescreen LCD HDTV last year for Christmas. My grandma actually got it on Black Friday from Wal-mart for $500. I was really excited to get my new TV, considering that I had been playing on a Zenith 27" for 10 years. I'm 15 years old and I'm a very avid Guitar Hero and Rock Band player, I have beaten EVERYTHING on Expert on them all except for singing on Rock Band, and I'm also the best at both games in my entire school. People know me as the Guitar Hero Kid. But anyway, I opened up my new TV and hooked it all up. I quickly put in Guitar Hero II and was about crapped my pants. The first song I played, I noticed a pretty bad lag problem and realized that there was a lag calibration system in the game already. I tried it and it didn't work at all, I have tried to calibrate the lag both manually and with the game in so many ways, and I have not found a single setup that has worked yet. It's driving me crazy that I can't play Guitar Hero and my mom got me Guitar Hero: World Tour for my birthday, but I can't play it! I have no idea what I can do anymore, and I'm honestly about ready to just sell the TV and get a different one. So here are the questions I would like to ask:
1. Does anyone have any decent lag settings for an Olevia 37" LCD HDTV that I could use?
2. Is there any other way that I could fix the lag without getting a different TV, such as getting a different audio system or plugging the cables into the back of my TV different?
3. Has anyone else had any problems such as this, and if so, what did you do to fix it?
If anyone could possibly help me in any way I would greatly appreciate it. I will do almost anything at this point to play Guitar Hero or Rock Band Drums. My parents strongly disagree with getting a new TV and have already yelled at me for even suggesting it. I have played real drums for 8 years and guitar for 1 year and have been playing video games for 13 years. So as you can tell, music and video games are what I value most in life. I've been searching for answers for a year and am about ready to give up. It's driving me crazy and I would really appreciate it if anyone could help at all.
