With some games yeah like if it's a co-op gane like Gears of War me and my friend will play from the beginning again and see how far we go. Saints Row even though I don't start the missions again I would still play because it's good to just drive around recklessly and cause anarchy with a rocket launcher. And as for Hitman: Blood Mloney I've played the missions over and over to achieve Silent Assassin ratings and because the missions are fun and challenging.
Normally I do, but I would really like if game developpers did the same as in Metal Gear Solid 1...
The first time you finish the game you could start your next play with stealth camouflage and the second time you finished the game you were awarded a Bandana (infinite amo). So that game made it really fun to play 3 times without feeling repetitive.
Sometimes I do but usually not. I have gone through Fable and Knights Of The Old Republic quite a few times... Mainly cause of the choices you can make and what not for different experiences.
But I also beat Hitman Blood Money a crap ton. So who knows... But yeah, Co-op I play the hell out of, as a lot of other people said.
The shorter the game, the more times I go through it. People will complain when a game lasts less than ten hours, as though they wait years for the game, play it once and put it on the shelf. A huge, Final Fantasy-esque RPG, in truth, doesn't seem to stay with me as long as a short game does because starting it up again from the very beginning is really daunting, as though I can't really get to the good parts without a serious investment, which I'm usually not inclined to give to a game I've already thoroughly explored once before. Usually, I'd put the game away, satisfied with the experience, but never touch it again dispite the occasional, dismissed thought to.
Enter the short game, like, oh, Metroid Zero Mission. I really don't know how many times I've run through it over the years. Starting a new game doesn't feel like stepping back in time 65 million years because of how quickly I can get to and play all the good parts.
More important than the length of the game would be how it's designed for replaying. Those big RPGs often have big cutscenes and non-interactive dialogs that can't be skipped over, so playing it again and again gets tedious. I don't know how those testers do it. A game like Bioshock, though, is pretty good at replay, as many of you know. Skip over the diaries and such when you want to, and keeps you in the game when things happen more often than not. In fact, a lot of shooters do that.
So yeah... I play games again when the game encourages it. They all should, of course. It sucks to have hundreds of people work on a game for years and years only for you to be done with and disinterested in their game in a matter of days. (It's worse with movies, though; millions upon millions of dollars and several years spent for... a measely two hours of entertainment? Is that really worthwhile?)
I've done it with dead rising, gow, lotr bfme II, lost planetand....... perfect dark zero. to name a few.
some games offer a different experience when played on tougher settings.
I play soo many games on soo many platforms that I don't usually get a chance to.
I tend to play through the game and then by the time its done, there is a new game out that I want on one of the systems, so I trade in the old ones.
Although that said, I do tend to go back to games that I really liked sometimes ten years or moreafter I first played them
Sometimes i will play through a game after beating it if i was having a lot of fun but it varies game to game. Most of the time i just put them on my shelf and they'll sit there forever lol.
