One question i have about black ops.

I personally cannot decide whether this is a bad game, or whether the hype around it was just always to high to live up to, what does everyone else think?

By the way, i do enjoy is, when i say bad game i am just comparing it to other games in the series.

not a bad game. i think its more balanced than mw2, but it still has its problems (lag, framerate issues, sound). all of which can be fixed with patches though, and once they are fixed, the game will be very good. i still have fun playing it as of now though.

If you lived cod 4 and mw 2 then go for it. I personally am waiting to see what MW3 is going to put on the table on terms of originality. Black ops is just more of the same.

On a side note, as a huge fan of audio everytime I watch gameplay vids of Black Ops the guns sound like people are having an airsoft war...

the more i play the game, the more frustrating it becomes and the less i can put up with the issues it has. the lag is simply horrible. time and time again i will put half of my clip into someone only to die from maybe 3 bullets. when i look on the killcam i maybe get 1 bullet out. and the damage the guns do is so incosistent. i can shoot someone in the chest with 4 shots and kill them one time, but the next time i nearly go throuh my entire clip on the guy but somehow hes still running around. i hope the lag fixes itself sooner rather than later because it makes the game too frustrating to enjoy. i really dont see how people think this game is so perfect.

Black Ops is good. The campaign is solid. The only complaint I have about the campaign is that it could have covered a larger scope of the Cold War-- i.e., the Berlin Blockade and Airlift, the Korean War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, Cambodia in the 70s against the Khmer Rouge, maybe some stuff in the 80s, too. The Cold War went all the way until 1991.

The multiplayer is good, too, but is full of lag. And, as ever, it's undoubtedly vulnerable to hackers. Other than that, it's good.

I wonder what that game will be called. Will it simply be called "Modern Warfare 3" without the Call of Duty name?
