I know there has been a lot of people talking about this game and everything, but, I just wanted to put something up about MW3 myself, just saying something that not many people would in its own topic.

But is it just me, or am I the only one tired of Call of Duty games? I haven't played one in 2 years. They put too much into it, comes out too often and it just seems to be getting old. Activision has a way to ruin games, hell, just ask Guitar Hero that. (I know they are different genres, but a game is a game).

What do you guys think?

The only thing about that is after Call of Duty started it, RDR did it too in a way, and that even could get a little boring after awhile, even though that is fun

I chuckled at the reveal trailer for MW3 because it was so ridiculous and not in a good way. Infinity ward and Sledgehammer games are trying waaay too hard. Just look at Battlefield 3, it won't have half the explosions MW3 has but it will be grounded in reality and seem plausible which gives every explosion more impact.

I'm still playing MW2 on a regular basis, I hope MW3 will be better than 2 because I'm getting a bit tired of the maps. But until MW3 comes out, I'll be playing a lot of MW2.

Also, this time around I'll trust my instinct instead of reviewers, because thanks to not trusting my instinct I ended up with BO, which to me it sucked big time and had nothing better than MW2.

Its the same thing each year, more or less with Modern Warfare. It lost its appeal, and kind of predictable. Every year a COD game? Come on! Ubisoft is taking the same approach now with most of its games, most notably AC. Which makes me scared out of fear for being bored with the series. Thanks Microsoft, you are smart and don't do this kind of thing

I think a majority of the hardcore players, like the people who navigate forums like these, are getting tired of Call of Duty. Yearly instalments are absolutely unnecessary. Scheduled release of additional content and longer post-launch support of their games would go a long way to restoring the franchise. Who really wanted another Call of Duty a year after 4 was released? I bet there weren't many. I was among the most devoted COD fans, but MW3 will be the first game I have not pre-ordered since 4. I also have to respond to the Ubisoft comment. I don't know about Assassin's Creed, but Ubisoft has done an amazing job not stuffing their franchises down our throats. It has been THREE YEARS since Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and we don't even have so much as an announcement for the next game. Ghost Recon, which is finally getting another game this year, has been out of the limelight since Advanced Warfighter 2, which was back in 2007 if memory serves. If anything, Ubisoft has been doing things right as far as their release schedule goes.

I got bored of the COD gameplay a long time ago, and I haven't even played the Treyarch ones. Even playing one every two years is too much when nothing changes. I'll never buy another COD.

i can see all the guys here saying they won't buy it be the first ones to get it hahahaha, but seriously i have never bought a call of duty game, i borrowed them and played them at friends places but never bought them. MW3 looks like crazy fun and i'm not really into military shooters so i'm going to be seeing how the single player is and the mulitplayer is also. So, even though it is modern warfare, i'm going to at least give it a chance.

You said everything I would have said. I knew better, but went against my better judgment and bought BO, and regretted it. I am stoked for MW3 to come out late this year, but am more in a Gears of War mode right now.

As a pretty die hard Call of Duty Fan....I can honestly say BF3 is probably going to top it this time around, ESPECIALLY on PC because of the new graphics engine. Yet, COD still appears to have nearly the same engine it did in MWF lol. Still I'll be getting because I never get tired of the multiplayer and I need me some new maps and guns.

MW3: Same old gameplay with more explosions and silly set pieces.

I fail to see the difference.

What do you guys think?

gomakyle25
Your not the only one who's sick and tired of Call of Duty. MW2 was that game that ruined it for me,didn't like how kill streaks stacked up,all the hacking, and every day someone finding a new glitch. In my opinion if you want to play a good call of duty, Call of Duty 2 and 3 were some of the best Call of Duties in the series. Its still fun to get a few friends and have a great time where your weapons decided who wins, and who loses.

At this point I feel like COD is like the Madden series. Buy it every few years to see if anything is different. Slowly realize its the same game and trade it in for a loss.

I'll be getting Battlefield 3 instead. If I've got the extra money (interview for a much better job tomorrow - crossin fingers) I'll get both as a lot of people I know will likely get it. Damn you, casual gamers! :)
