I rented the game recently, I wouldn't consider buying it, it's good though.

I don't even know if I am going to touch it. I finished the first FEAR on PC and I didn't care much for it. Just felt like another generic shooter with some horror elements to me.

I rented it on Ps3 (360 broke for the 7th time recently) even though I enjoy shooters on 360 more, I still found it to relatively enjoyable. In no way would I go out and buy it, but it kept me entertained throughout the ~7 hour campaign.

Be sure before you purchase that you have the proper mindset. Fear2 is much more of a generic shooter when compared to the original. The older Alma just isn't scary and most of the horror tricks that they use to scare you have been recycled from the first game. The overall atmosphere is great but I wasn't nearly frightened as much playing the game. The slow-mo effects are still cool and the A.I. is relatively good but overall the game falls short of delivering what the first Fear did. Plus, the ending sucks.

After I beat the game and wound up playing mutliplayer, I was sorely disappointed. They've gotten rid of the slow-mo effects which made the original's multiplayer stand out from the crowd. Instead they've added new game modes which include the "Powered Armor" from the singleplayer. You're also able to create your own "class" my assigning points to certain items and weapons.

Like I previously stated, Fear2 is a generic shooter that doesn't do anything exceptionally well but at the same time doesn't have any game ruining flaws.

That's kind of how I felt. I'd say it's a rental at best.

Yeah , £30 around $60, but usually us brits pay £40, $80 so to us it's a bargain.
