you made a mistake by renting it. You should play all games on there, they are all really good. you would miss out if you skipped any. Plus, Episode 2 might be the best out of the three. but in order to understand whats going on, and to understand the ending (AWESOME ending by the way) you have to play the other two first. You could easily be playing all the games in the orange box for at least a month. i did it in 2 months, but i play slowly.
After you are done with all of that, you can always hang on to it and kick back with some team fortress 2 from time to time. The lag on that game sometimes makes it unplayable, but its not too hard to find a smooth running game. when you do, you can be hooked for hours.
I say return the game and buy it if you are enjoying halflife 2 so far. it gets better and better as you play along. But whatever you do, try to play through all the games.
I love how threads like "do u liek me" and "should i change my gamertag" have hundreds of posts but when someone has an actual game question... nothingbluntmastaslaya
I agree...its SO annoying. the only threads i have ever started have all ben serious questions. and usually they ony get about 5-10 responses...80% of them being garbage.

So i just got the orange box.... played portal, its dope. started playing half life 2 which i thought was episode 1 plus episode 2... which i recently found was not true. are these three different games? which is the best? im renting so i want to make the most of the time i have with it. whats the deal with these games?bluntmastaslaya
Maybe thats what confused me. He thought HL2 was all three games, and its obviously not, as they are seperated in the main menu.
