So I have an original 360 and I also have an HD tv. Connected however, the picture quality isnt as good as it should be and I know its because of the 360 because the tv is very new . My xboxdoesnt have an hdmi port so I cant use an hdmi cable and so I'm wondering if getting a slimwould fix the graphics problem by itself?Because getting a slim would also have many other benefits as well.

HDMI makes a huge difference. I have an original HDMI 360 and a launch Component 360 and the difference in connecting with an HDMI cable is necessary to get the full potential out of your TV.

I've got an original on a 32" HD TV and the HD works fine if I'm using a HDMI. But the only thing I wish I had was built in wi-fi like the slim :(

No it's not, that's not at all true

Component gives you 1080p as well

You're not gonna see a huge difference when switching from component HD to HDMI.

There's really not that big of a difference between HDMI and component video. If you're having graphics problems using component video, then something's wrong with either your tv, xbox, or the cables themselves.

Yeah I'm getting a slim soon. My parents are getting pissed with the old one being so damn loud. Plus I want one with the HDMI output.

lol if there's someone who can give you a good answer to this question, it's me:

I have an older HDTV, it has component, but no HDMI. To make matters worse though, the component output on my TV is a little...fuzzy when something is running in progressive resolutions (480p, 720p). But it's interlaced, it looks nice and clear....but then there's resolution limitations.

My solution, use the VGA input on your TV. If it's a new TV, it'll have one. VGA, incase you didn't know, is the same as a PC monitor plug...So instead of spending all that money on a new 360, you could just spend that money, and get a nice. clear 1080p using VGA.

So to sum up..Component on my TV is a little fuzzy. VGA makes it just like HDMI. High res, no noise.

You get slightly sharper picture and audio with HDMI cables. If you can get decent money back for your 360, I would highly recommend it

yeah i upgraded a couple of months ago, i had one of the early 360s without HDMI (it was fixed or replaced by MS cause it RROD'd on me, I think early 2007) and I wanted online gaming so I needed to shell out money for an XBOX wifi adapter. I got 100 out of my old xbox 360 and so far so good. Quieter, somewhat cooler, smaller..its black, if you didn't like the white thing...i kind of did.

Your problem is you are not using an HDMI cable and if you dont have a port then you will have to upgrade to a newer version that has the HDMI port or just deal with the graphics you currently have.
