i tried to get on to Halo 2 multiplayer a few minutes ago at 4:30 pm pacific and i could NOT, so that means microsoft has put an end to a gaming era. all so they can increase the size of the 360 friends list (so ive heard).

oh well i bet later bungie will revamp H2 for the 360 like they did with perfect dark.

well that and they also want to focus on the 360 and making online better and faster.

well when i try to sign into H2 it wont let me, so it must be shut down for people trying to just get on.

i checked your tag out and your still playing, so as long as some people are still playing they will play. BUT if you shut it off and try to join you wont be able to.you will get this message. "We cannot connect to Xbox Live. Would you like to start the toubleshooter?" and thus it is shut down for new players not ones still on it already.

A sad day for gaming indeed. I fully expect a Halo 2 Arcade title next summer that supports online play.

well that was the end of an era that set bases for what todays online is, I wasnt part of that era for the matter, but I hope the current live last for more time when live 3.0 lands with the 720(?)... cant stop enjoying the current system, cant help to think whats next

im sure if bungie paid microsoft enough money for some servers (or what ever) they COLUD could bring halo 2 back online.

Agreed. I always knew Halo 2 was still being played online. There would be times where I'd sign into XBL, and see most of my friends playing Team Slayer. It was quite the phenomenon.

howd u get it to work i have my ip dns and cable connected but it wont connect to xbl i tried the modem and router and well just about everything else
