This not a flame or system wars but merely a question. I own both consoles and want to know what are the reasons why most people do not, lets say money is not an issue, would you own both? If so why? and if not, why not?

I would definitely own both if I wanted to buy it.

I have the money but I don't think I would play it as much as my 360 and that's my only reason. I might buy the MGS4 bundled console but I'm not sure.

I think 90% of consumers only own one or the other. I had a hard time forking over the money but I think its worth it. I just wanted to know if the majority would love to own both if they could!!!!

I have both, but im currently disappointed in the offerings from Sony. After almost 2 years id expect to have more. I see why they claim the PS3 life span will be 10+ years. But i keep it for the Blu-Ray, and for the games i know will eventually make it. Little Big Planet, GT5, MGS4, Killzone 2, and Socom Confrontation are all games i still look forward to. Im just getting alittle tired of waiting for them.

There's a lot of great games out there, you're just saying what you read and hear. If the media showed more favoritism towards the PS3 you're sentence would be the oher way around.

Thats complete crap. I have both systems because i want the exclusives that both systems will or do have. I enjoy Live alot more than PSN so if its a multiplayer game thats on both consoles, i tend to get the 360 version. Which leaves the PS3 to its exclusives, which its lacking. Thats just the way it is. You cant tell me theres great PS3 exclusives out there right now. Thats bull. When the games im still looking forward to on it are finally released, THEN, i'll change what im saying. But for now, im still waiting for it to offer me something the other consoles dont, and its not delivering. Period.

I would go with Wii if I could have one of the two only for Brawl though.

I liked the PS3 for a very few reasons. I like my 360 much more. I ended up selling my PS3 on Ebay about 4 months after I got it. The way I see it there are tons of great games now on the 360. There are some great games coming to the PS3. I just got tired of waiting and having a $500 shiny dust collector in my game room. I will buy a PS3 again someday. But that will probably be mainly for the Blu-ray player and 1 or 2 games (God of War and Shadow of the Colossus sequels).

Lets stay on topic and not turn this into an argument, just talking about if you could own both would you. Lets not compare the two, thanks!

Still on the fence about the PS3. I don't like the way they have several different versions out there, and especially the fact that 60GB and 80GB models are pretty hard to come by. Can't make myself settle for a 40GB so I've been sort of toying around with the idea of picking up the 80GB MGS4 bundle, but I dunno... I'm not a huge MGS fan, and it'll be a while yet before there are any killer apps (for me). Admittedly LittleBigPlanet and Valkyria Chronicles both look pretty boss, but there are enough games scheduled to hit the 360 around that same time that I just don't especially see the need to invest in a PS3 yet. My gaming time is already pretty limited.

But, of course, if the PS3 has a life comparable to the PS2's, then I'm sure I'll eventually pick one up. Even if it's only when they hit bargain basement prices!

Buy it if you can get it cheap. EB games sold me mine for 349.99 60gig. Great system. 360 has better games therefore is the better system. The longevity of PS3 has a huge advantage with the bluray drive. But I love the 360 because of the amount of good games now.

I decided on the 360 over the ps3 because it was the more established system ie more games, larger online community etc. Im by no means a fan boy, and I think that the ps3 could prove to be a very powerful system, but atm theres just not enough exclusives to tempt me. We'll see what the situation is in a year or so(it'll probably take me that long to find the money and convince my wife that i need more than one console - thats proably gonna be the hardest part!)

I have both and im veyr happy with my decision to get them. I even set myself a way to play them both equally. basically I have Vegas2 ad a few other mutliplayer games along with Bioshock, Lost Odyssey, and Mass Effect for my 360. But I got a lareg library of SP games for my PS3 like Uncharted, Turok, UT3, COD4, DMC4, and i gto GTA4 and Condemned 2 reserved. So basically I keep my 360 just to play live and my PS3 for the single player games, cause thats what the majority use them both for anyway.

If I had the resources, hell yes I would buy a PS3. Unfortunately, I'm only 14, and I don't have the money to own both systems. I chose the 360 over the PS3, and I have no regrets. Yeah, I wish I could play Uncharted: Drakes Fortune or Resistance, but then I think about wehat I'd feel like if I couldn't play Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Viva Pinata, or soon Fable 2 or GTA IV exclusive content. I'm happy.

I am certain that I would have both systems if money was not an option. Actually it is not with me. I currently have a xbox 360 and plan to buy a ps3 as soon as the line up of games become more impressive. If Gamestop offers a pre order for the MGS4 bundle with the rumble controller I definitly will buy the ps3. But I was waiting for the games. I don't care for Blu-Ray or HD Dvd. I buy a game system for games. And since Resistance 2 is coming this fall along with MGS4 and ,maybe, Killzone 2, those are 3 games that I would gladly fork over half a G for. Not to mention Final Fantasy. However I can't buy the ps3 now since I can play the major games fine on my 360 and I absolutly was not gonna pay that much for a system and not have a controller that RUMBLES!

If money wasn't an issue, I would own both systems. But I still think I would get more use out of the XBox than I did on my ps3. Any game on the PS3 I wanted to play, I could play on the Xbox 360: Oblivion, Devil May Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto, Assassin's Creed. There are some titles on PS3 that I would play if I had the system (Heavenly Sword, Hot Shots Golf). I would play them if I bought the system. But I'm not going to buy the system to play them. If you know what I mean.

However, The more MGS4 approaches towards the release date, it increases the liklihood of considering to buy a ps3.

If money were not an issue I would definitely own both systems. I own the PS3 right now but I must say that there are a lot of games on the 360 that I really wish I had. Plus most of my friends have XBOX360 so I would get it for XBL. I could buy the system if I really wanted but I think having only one helps me to keep money in the bank so that I am not blowing it all on video games.

I recently traded my wii and ssmb for a ps3 with resistance and warhawk. Now i own both a 360 and a ps3. Honestly, I dont like it, the reason why is that I love putting tons and tons of time into my 360, unlocking achievements, playing all the games, and playing on live. Now that i have my ps3, should i get a multiplat on the 360 or ps3. Since i know ill get it on 360 and since i know that i really wont play ps3 other than for what.....mgs4 and god of war 3, its not really that valuable to me anymore.

Sure i can rent bluerays and such but now with the netflix thing, its even more buried for me.

I am probibly going to sell the ps3 that i have and get another wii, and wit the extra money pick up another 360 game.

Long story short, I feel that personally for me it is a waste of money to own both a ps3 and 360 because they both offer 95% comparable things and it just creates a supurfluous option to do the exact same thing without it

I would own both, if I had the money, but the xbox is proving to be enough anyway, so I don't need to consider another console.

I own both. The 360 is my primary gaming machine, and the PS3 tends to get used more for watching Blu-Ray. The PS3 still has a few exclusives that I enjoy as well as a number of PS2 games that I didn't play last go round.
