What could they offer that would tempt people to buy it? Multiplayer and DLC are already included in the Gold service, so I for one wouldn't be tempted - and I suppose that's the case for most people. Although I suppose they could offer DLC and Demo's a few weeks in advance on Platinum, and then release them onto Gold later.
Either way, Platinum would have to offer something brilliant in order to warrant a price hike.

I really hope this isn't right. 50 dollars for XBL is enough... now 60? Luckily he didn't seem to have proof so I'm not too worried yet.

I mean that just because he didn't choose to have a show on Xbox Live doesn't mean a show isn't in the works. I'd bet a show is in the works and it could have something to do with this supposed "Platinum Package". If a show is in the works, then it's not a huge jump in logic to think that they might add something more than this. Perhaps it would be like TV Guide. It's all speculation at this point, but the Xbox 360 could easily replace a cable box. That's all I'm saying.
I wouldn't dare believe anything that man says. He already predicted in the past that the PS3 would be killing the Wii and 360 by a few years ago, and look at things today. The man is wrong time and time again. And that would be really stupid of Microsoft to raise the gold sub fee, when it's already a negative being used against them for charging in the first place. People already believe it or not, are struggling to keep their gold accounts and keep buying a steady stream of games. Add the platinum all you want, but leave our prices alone if you're not gonna drop em!

First time I've heard anything on this & really seems completely bogus to me. I don't plan on spending any more than the $25 to $30 a year I do so for Xbox Live.
