For the TC at least you might get lucky and have it added to the end of your warranty. I personally have purchased to warranties from gamestop at $40.00 each. One for my first 360 and one for my second 360. Now it seems that all that time is covered from of charge by MS now.
That's $80.00 wasted i'm sure I wont be getting back.

You would have to check with whoever you bought the warranty from. I goot mine from Sams and it covers 3 years, after the manufactures warranty expires. So now I have a 6 year warranty. Booyah!
if you bought the warranty from microsoft they will send you a letter that the warranty doesnt start till there 3 year warranty expires, they did the same thing when they extended it to 1 year if you had the 2 year warranty you received a letter telling you it doesnt start till there warranty expires
The two year warranty covers any HW defect whereas the new "3 year warranty" only covers the three red lights error. Lots of people have issues other than the three red lights, so that's where your two year warranty would come in handy.

I have DREs too, but my console is over a year old so I'm boned.
