Well this game actually looks like a lot of fun, since I like turn-based fighting games and I think the comics are pretty funny...but then I saw it would be 1600 points for it, and I got some second thoughts...will anybody here be buying it although it will be the most expensive item on the XBL marketplace to date?

Actually, it's not the most expensive thing on the marketplace. Oblivion's Shivering Isles expansion was 2400 microsoft points.

First of all........it's freakin Penny Arcade, of course people will buy it. I just haven't decided if I'm going to get it for the 360 or PC.... Hmm, maybe both... it is Penny Arcade afterall. Secondly, is it out? Guess I didn't think it was coming until Q4 for some reason

It's not out yet, but soon; the following page was posted on May 1st: http://kotaku.com/5007513/penny-arcade-game-gone-gold

"Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One has gone gold and will be going on sale via digital distribution later this quarter, Hothead Games said today."

You know if it was just the one time $20 price I'd be fine with it but I heard it was going to have episodes. I hope they don't expect us to shell out 20 bucks each time.

From what I understand episode one is supposed to be 8-10hrs long. I think IGN or some other site reviewed it already and gave it a 8.5, saying it had more content than most retail games. $20 for each episode isn't much to ask so long as they don't get lazy on us.

$20 should be that quality and quantity of 1/3 of a normal game and from what i have been seeing with some games that won't be all too great. With $60 dollars it should be quality of a normal game, but i totally doubt it will... of course there is Fuzion Frenzy 2.........

It's a tough one for me. The gamer side of me wants this game bad enough to buy it day 1.

The corporation hater in me, wants me to boycott so they don't keep trying to milk us.

At the end of the day, the gamer side in me wins. I wont pass up a good game just because I don't support their tactics. As long as they put in the time with it, and a fair amount of effort, I'll support it. So I'll buy the first one, and see where it goes from there.

I must be missing something. I'll admit I haven't read too much about the game and only saw a couple of gameplay videos (Think they showed it off On The Spot once).... So, what do you mean by "milk us" ?

Yeah, you know... those tactics like... paying for a game. Get real, IGN and OXM have already commented that the game has almost as much content as retail. If there are three episodes at $20 each that is the same as 1 retail game. Apparently that is much more than you get with most $60 games these days. Give me a break... why do people think that things shouldn't cost money...

i'll probably buy it and if i like it enough i will buy the next episodes. it's not like you are forced to buy the other episodes. but then again assault heroes 2 is coming out on wednesday so now i have to take that into effect
