i'm not using my HDMI port for my xbox 360. i play on a 32" sony bravia it only goes to 1080i i figured since it doesn't play full 1080 i don't need the cord for it.

i am thinking about getting surrsound for it.

I have my HDMI cable go from my 360 to my receiver which handles the audio and video. It's the best way to go.

Cracked open the regular AV cable, took the plastic casing off, hooked up the optical port to my speakers (surround). Got an HDMI to DVI cable, hooked it up to my monitor.

And let me tell you, the different between analog and digital is incredible. Probably better if my monitor had a straight HDMI port, but we make do with what we go, and I can certainly say I'm happy with my setup.

Both my 5.1 receiver and HDTV support HDMI. So, I have everything go into my receiver and then on to my HDTV.

I had to crack open the case of my original component output to get it to fit while I have in an HDMI cable. I needed the optical since my HDMI goes to a 4x2 switcher to make my projector vs TV selection easier.

I use hdmi on a 37" samsung. there is actually quite a big difference between component and hadmi on 1080p games. Reason being because the xbox360 doesn't do true 1080p through component. As for VGA hd av cable, I tried that but it looked like crap compared to hdmi. On my tele it even looks worse than compoenent for some reason.

I use some Turtle Beach's for my PC sometimes. They are awesome true 5.1 headsets.
