We already have 100+ signatures and need more we need as many as possible! The reason I made this is because we pay for the service and need to have full rights to what everyone else does.

um.... if you're under 18 you don't have some rights.  do children have the same rights as adults in the real world? no. then what would make you think they would on xbox live?  it's just a messenger, and you can still use it on your computer.  i for one am not ever going to use it anyhow.  if i wanted to message someone, i would get on my computer and do so.

there is no point to having different kinds of accounts in a service...and get all those accounts the same ammount of access to the service. kind of defeats the propose...get used to getting the short end up the stick.

Hmm, care to explain why someone who is 17 years and 364 days old needs silly "protection" and someone who is 18 years old does not? Or perhaps, why even if you're over 18, if you've been a customer for a while, too bad! You don't get to use it either!

Do you not realize that 17 years and 364 days does not equal 18 years?  I remember going to the bar when I was 20 years and 364 days old.  Guess what??  I didn't get served.

I would have NEVER guessed that IM was such a big deal.  This topic may have the most threads started that I've ever seen.

Agreed.  This should not even be up for debate.

Because the line must be drawn somewhere.  Do you think that the day before you are eligible for a driver's license you are less capable than the day after?  What about voting?  Drinking?  Smoking?

Not if you're born on a leap year.

Quack attack....   if you want to go to those lengths... why can a person in the states fight and die for their country under 21 but not able to have a beer?     there's alot of things that don't make sense in this world.     I have to agree for once that this does.    Kids do need to be protected.   There are tonnes of sicko's out there.     and besides... if they change it for 17 yr olds than 16 yr olds will be saying the same thing as you......

The response from people over 18 is idiotic. Put yourself in our shoes for a second, and think about it. Protect us from pervs? Yeah, don't allow us to sign onto msn on the xbox, even though we can sign on using our computer. Oh, yeah we can't go on msn, but let us talk to completely random strangers, send messages back and forth, communicate with video devices, etc.

At least let it be changed under the parental settings. If I knew this was all going to happen I would've just faked my age to 20-something.

Actually, the response from the "over 18's" is typical and expected, it's basically a polite way of saying "quit your childish whining".  Put ourselves in your shoes? We were in your shoes, for 18 years, we lived with not being able to do alot of stuff and now we can.  We paid our dues, so quit your childish whining, shut up and pay yours.

The real problem is that people who were once under 18 when they first made a Live account years ago, but are now over 18, cannot see ads. The joke of it is that they fixed the system so that I can use MSN messager, but I cannot see ads.
